The man credited with putting George W. Bush in the White House
was in town Friday night speaking to the local Republican faithful.

Rove's being invited to appear before the House Judiciary Committee.
They want him to answer questions about allegations of politically
motivated prosecution. The issue they'll discuss with Rove occurred
while serving under the Bush administration.

Apparently they have a testimony claiming the Republican may have

Schmitz's case grows into war of words

....Watson also claims that FBI agents mistreated Schmitz during the
arrest and hauled her off in handcuffs, which Watson argues proves
her indictment "reeks of bad faith and selective prosecution."

...."If she was mistreated as alleged, to the point where blood
streamed from her injured hands, why did she or her counsel not
report this fact to anyone - the prosecutor, the probation office or the
court - at the time of her initial appearance?" Athanas asked in his
motion. "If the injuries were so extensive, why did she not document
her mistreatment with photographic or video evidence?"

"The absence of this evidence speaks volumes," Athanas argues.

The defense also took exception to Athanas saying in one
government response that Watson didn't offer a sworn statement
about his claims of a request that Schmitz be allowed to surrender to
avoid arrest.
